McDuffie County Jail Roster
The official online starting point is the McDuffie jail population roster, an InteropWeb page hosted by Synergistic Software and linked from the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office home page as Inmate Inquiry. That official link matters. The roster is not on the sheriff domain, but the sheriff's own site sends users there for the public jail population view. It is free to view, no account was observed, and it gives a practical custody list for people booked into the McDuffie County Jail / McDuffie County Detention Center.
The roster has three useful views. Current Inmates is the strongest custody check for a person who may still be held. The 24 Hours Arrests tab helps when a booking just happened and family members need a fast status check. The Inmates by Arrest Date tab helps when the arrest date is known or when a name search misses a released entry. Both recent and arrest-date views can show RELEASED and CURRENTLY BOOKED statuses, so each McDuffie County inmate record must be read on its own terms.
The public roster is not a full criminal-history database. It does not replace court files, prosecutor records, Georgia criminal-history tools, or state prison records. It also does not show every possible custody situation. A person may be absent because booking is not complete, the name is spelled differently, the person has been released, the person moved to Georgia Department of Corrections custody, or the person is in federal or immigration custody instead of the McDuffie County jail.
The InteropWeb roster screen below is the current-inmate view linked through the sheriff's site. Source: McDuffie Current Inmates roster.
The roster image shows why McDuffie County inmate records need careful reading: the page combines status, agency, bond, and charges in one expanded entry rather than a separate profile screen.
Use McDuffie County Inmate Search
A good McDuffie County inmate search starts with the reason for the lookup. If the concern is current custody, use Current Inmates. If the arrest may have happened within the last day, use 24 Hours Arrests. If the person was booked earlier or may have been released, use Inmates by Arrest Date. The portal does not require a booking number or date of birth in the visible search field, so partial names can be useful when spelling is uncertain.
- Open the sheriff site and choose Inmate Inquiry, or go directly to the InteropWeb McDuffie jail population roster.
- Select Current Inmates, 24 Hours Arrests, or Inmates by Arrest Date based on what is known about custody or release.
- Enter a full or partial name in the optional inmate-name filter, then press Search Inmates.
- Review each entry for status, arrest date, agency, days in jail, total bond, and the charge table.
- If the result is missing, try fewer name characters, switch tabs, call the Law Enforcement Center, or use the sheriff open-records process.
McDuffie County roster entries can include arresting agencies beyond the sheriff, including Thomson Police, Georgia State Patrol, Taliaferro County, Warren County, Glascock County, and DCS. That does not mean the McDuffie sheriff made every arrest. It means the McDuffie County Jail can be the custody point while a different agency or court path is tied to the charge.
McDuffie County Roster Fields
The roster search field is simple, but the page controls around it matter. The portal does not show a date-of-birth field, race filter, housing filter, wildcard rule, or booking-number search. It gives a name filter, roster tabs, a search button, and pagination. Use those controls before assuming that a person is not in McDuffie County custody.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Filter By Inmate Name (Optional) | Text | No | Single name-filter field; full or partial names may be tried. |
| Current Inmates | Tab/link | No | Shows the active jail population list. |
| 24 Hours Arrests | Tab/link | No | Shows recent bookings and may include released entries. |
| Inmates by Arrest Date | Tab/link | No | Browse by arrest date, including current and released listings. |
| Search Inmates | Button | n/a | Runs the visible name filter on the selected tab. |
| Prev / Next and page numbers | Pagination | n/a | Used when the McDuffie roster spans multiple pages. |
The roster count can change as people are booked, released, or transferred. Research observations showed Current Inmates counts changing between inspections, while the sheriff did not publish a precise refresh interval. Treat the roster as a current public view, then confirm urgent release, bond, visit, or transport questions with the jail.
McDuffie County Inmate Record Details
McDuffie County inmate records on the public roster are expanded listing entries, not private jail-management files. They are useful because the public view shows the custody status, arrest date, total bond, and a charge table. They are limited because they do not show court dates, booking time, date of birth, race, age, pod, cell, victim names, witness names, police narrative, or case disposition.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Image | Photo slot or image links may appear, but a visible mugshot is not guaranteed. |
| Name | Uppercase name, usually surname first. |
| Status | CURRENTLY BOOKED or RELEASED was observed. |
| Sex / height / weight | Basic physical fields; race, date of birth, and age were not observed. |
| Address | Shown as REDACTED in the public view. |
| Arrest date and agency | Date tied to the booking and often the arresting or holding agency. |
| Days in jail | Custody duration for that listing, not a sentence length or release estimate. |
| Total bond | Total public bond amount or NOT SET. |
| Charge table | Warrant number, counts, statute, description, misdemeanor/felony marker, and court. |
The M/F column in the charge table means misdemeanor or felony. It is not the inmate's sex field. The public roster also gives total bond at the entry level, not a detailed bond schedule for each charge. When total bond says NOT SET, the next step is the jail or the first-appearance court process, not a guess based on the charge name.
McDuffie County Records Fallbacks
When an online McDuffie County inmate record is missing or incomplete, the fallback chain stays local before it moves statewide. The Thomson Police FAQ directs jail-status and visiting questions to the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center. The sheriff contact page gives the main number and division extensions, and the sheriff records page explains that open-records requests must be in writing to the open-records officer. The official form allows incident, accident, or other requests and includes in-person, fax, mail, email, and phone/callback receipt choices.

Records page lists weekday records availability and written request rules.
Use the sheriff's records and administrative services page for reports or jail records that are not on the roster. The request should be specific: name, date, case number if known, type of record, and whether the request is for a booking record, arrest report, bond information, or other jail record. The sheriff says records will be provided as permissible by law within three business days after receipt or with written explanation if that cannot occur.
Note: Pending criminal-case discovery may require the court route instead of a sheriff public-records request.
McDuffie County Booking Records
Booking at the McDuffie County Detention Center is the intake stage after an arrest or warrant service. Local sources did not publish a full booking manual, but the roster and Georgia law show the record path. The jail records identity, sex, height, weight, address, arrest date, arresting agency, charges, court indicators, bond status, and custody status. The public roster then redacts some private data while leaving charge and bond fields visible.
The public date field is best described as arrest date unless the roster itself says otherwise. A McDuffie County jail record is not the same thing as a court case filing. Charges may later be amended, accused by information, indicted, dismissed, or resolved in court. For that reason, a reader using jail records to follow formal charges should move from the roster to the court named in the charge table. The local court path is covered more fully in McDuffie County court records after jail arrest.
- Booking
- Jail intake that creates the custody record after an arrest or hold.
- Current inmate
- A person presently listed as held in the McDuffie County jail population.
- Released
- A person no longer held in that booking cycle, even if a court case may remain open.
- Detainer or hold
- A request or legal basis to keep a person for another agency or custody system.
- First appearance
- An early court hearing where bond and initial custody questions may be addressed.
County State Federal Inmate Lookup
McDuffie County inmate records split by custody system. The county roster covers the local jail, including pretrial detainees, people serving county sentences, people waiting for state pickup, and other-agency holds at the detention center. The Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender tool is the right search after a person enters state prison custody. Federal and immigration systems use different databases and often show different fields.
| Custody Situation | Where to Look | What to Expect |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or short county sentence | McDuffie InteropWeb roster or jail phone | Status, arrest date, agency, charges, and total bond. |
| Sentenced Georgia felony custody | GDC Find an Offender | GDC ID, physical details, institution, sentence, and release fields. |
| Federal sentenced custody | BOP Inmate Locator | Federal records from 1982 forward, location, and release-date information. |
| Immigration detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | A-number or exact biographical search for current ICE detention. |
| Release notification | VINELink / VINE | Notification channel for custody events such as release, arrest, or escape. |
No exact McDuffie County Sheriff or Thomson Police mobile app was confirmed in the official site and store research. Use the web roster, jail phone, sheriff records process, GDC, BOP, ICE, and VINELink instead of looking for an app-only roster.
McDuffie County Jail Visits
McDuffie County visitation is built around video visitation. The sheriff's Jail Division page names IC Solutions for scheduling and remote access. Remote visits can be scheduled from a computer, tablet, Android device, or Apple smartphone with internet and a camera. The sheriff page says remote service has a charge, but it does not publish a fee table. Visits may be scheduled up to seven days ahead and must be scheduled at least 24 hours before the visit.
| Visit Type | Day | Group | Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Remote video | Scheduled | Eligible inmates | Through IC Solutions | Charge applies; schedule up to seven days ahead and at least 24 hours ahead. |
| Lobby video | Wednesday | Female inmates | 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. | Uses Detention Center lobby terminals; wait may be lengthy. |
| Lobby video | Wednesday | Male inmates | 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. | Availability depends on already scheduled visits. |
Inmates in permanent housing may have three 15-minute visits weekly unless discipline has removed that privilege. Visitors under 18 must be with a parent or guardian unless legally married to the inmate. Proper dress and behavior are required. The sheriff prohibits picture taking, recording devices, and driving while taking part in video visitation.
McDuffie County Inmate Contact
Official McDuffie sources did not publish a detailed inmate mail format, commissary vendor, deposit method, kiosk rule, phone-rate table, tablet program, or attorney-visit schedule. That gap should not be filled with vendors from other jails. IC Solutions is confirmed for video visitation only. Before mailing funds, scheduling a professional visit, or sending anything to a person in custody, call the Jail Division and confirm current rules for that inmate.
| Service | Confirmed Detail | Best Next Step |
|---|---|---|
| Video visitation | IC Solutions; remote and lobby video rules published. | Schedule ahead and have the inmate check the housing-unit kiosk. |
| No official mail-format rule found. | Call Jail Division before sending mail or packages. | |
| Commissary or deposits | No official vendor or fee table found. | Call the jail before sending money. |
| Attorney visits | No separate schedule found. | Contact the Jail Division for professional visit rules. |
